Welcome to Lewes District Scouts

Welcome to the Lewes District Scout website. We are dedicated to fostering personal growth, outdoor adventures, and community service in Lewes and the surrounding villages! If you are interested in joining one of our groups as an adult volunteer or you would like your child to join up, take a look at the map below to find out where your closest group is. Contact details can be found for each group in their dedicated page above!

At what age can my child start Scouting?

That is an excellent question and one we get a lot! Find out which section your young person could start in today!

Squirrels are the youngest section in Scouting. These little legends start at aged 4 until they are 6! We currently have only one Squirrel Drey in Lewes District so if you feel up for starting one, get in touch. We will offer all the support needed!

Next up, it's Beavers! These blue bright sparks are aged between 6 and 8. They know nothing but energy and enthusiasm and are always keen to get stuck in with a wealth of activities.

Who could forget about Cub Scouts! Well these adventurous advocates get outside whenever they can. Whether that is camping or canoeing! Cubs are aged between 8 and 10.5. You can't miss them, they're the loud ones wearing green!

This is it right? This is the end? Nope, we keep going. But not before Scouts. These young teenagers are aged between 10.5 and 14 and know every single way to light a fire... even with wet wood!

Explorers! Young adults! Tomorrow's leaders! At the bright age of 14 to 18, Explorers are going through a lot at school and college, so we want to make Scouting an environment where they can blow off steam but develop as people.

The fun doesn't stop when you turn 18. Although a lot of young people go off to university when they leave college, there are many who don't go and decide to look for employment or those who come to the many universities in Brighton. Network is for those aged between 18 and 25 and is primarily self led.
